Spirit Centered

We believe the divine presence of God is the greatest power on earth. It is God's Presence that motivates, guides and drives all our work and activities. We listen to that Divine Guidance in our daily work and in our decision-making and planning.

We believe that God's Spirit directs us towards a selfless love, respect, and concern for others and reverence for the created world. We affirm and enable personal growth and development for all God's people.

Our inner spiritual lives enable our outer living. God's creation is extravagant and we operate out of a spirit of abundance.

Stewardship

We believe Stewardship is holding or managing something in trust for another. We and our members are stewards of MAX. As stewards, we have been chosen to care for our properties and possessions, the work of MAX, and for each other.

We help our members identify preventative measures that avoid property loss or personal injury and work with them to implement such measures. We help our members identify risk and apply their premium dollars in the most effective way possible. Our greatest priority is service and care for all members, regardless of the size or scope of their property and casualty insurance needs.

MAX practices good stewardship of its members' assets, investing in life-affirming and life-enhancing funds. Our goal is to practice good stewardship of all our resources, financial and people, giving MAX every chance to successfully live out our core mission of creating and sustaining wholeness as a faith-based enterprise.

Community

We believe it is important to foster a cooperative spirit and unity within the MAX family which includes our team, our agents and brokers, and our members. We believe humankind was created to live in community caring for and relating to one another.

MAX has its historical roots in the Anabaptist and Brethren faith communities that practice a deep sense of kinship and care for one another. While MAX now serves all faith groups who share our values, our goal of creating a sense of community for our MAX membership remains unchanged. We build community with relationships based on care, trust, love, and transparency.

Community is further strengthened by MAX's reciprocal (cooperative) structure. MAX is owned by our members and exists solely to serve their needs and the needs of their communities.

Mutual Aid

We believe in providing tangible help, care and support in time of need, insurance related or not, through our program of mutual aid ministries. Through this program, MAX addresses many situations where emotional, spiritual and financial wholeness may need to be restored. We focus on the needs of our constituency and others who are experiencing trauma, burden or loss.

To support this ministry, we set aside 1% of our premiums each year from MAX and MAX Canada. Our income thus becomes the fuel through which we do the ministry of mutual aid.

To further support this ministry, we have team members wholly dedicated to the establishment and implementation of a wide variety of outreach ministry to the people and faith communities we serve. Our ministries are integrated with the insurance side of MAX and work closely, whenever possible, with constituent churches and faith groups.
