MAX® has taken the following green initiatives to be more earth-friendly.
Going Green for our members:
Members can opt-in for electronic policy forms (in our new Stingray system).
Members can receive policy credits for upgrades to new technology as part of our equipment breakdown coverage.
Members can pay their MAX premiums via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or credit card and save mailing envelopes and checks.
Going Green for our agents:
MAX commissions paid to agents via EFT.
An estimated half of agent correspondence and documents are sent electronically versus regular mail.
Most agent training is conducted via webinars, reducing the number of in-person meetings and travel.
Agent electronic policy processing system used to eliminate paper (in our new Stingray system).
Going Green in our offices:
Telecommuting program enabled by a VOIP phone system to reduce employee commute time and office space in our headquarters.
Recycling program for paper, aluminum cans, plastics and toner cartridges.
Efficient light bulbs and fixtures.
Use of coffee mugs instead of Styrofoam cups.
Implemented paperless benefit packages.
Replaced CRT monitors with LCD’s which use one third less energy.
Consolidated our servers with virtual machines off-site and implemented remote desktops.
Replaced old copiers and printers with more efficient Canon copier/fax/printers that default to 2 sided black & white prints. These new printers are also being used for in-house print jobs which were outsourced in the past.
Faxes are received and distributed electronically, eliminating paper waste.
Electronic document management used for member files, company invoices, employee expense reports and board materials; eliminating the need for paper copies.
