A New Couple with No Home?

A young man from Saskatchewan planned to get married in June of 2005. In preparation for his marriage he purchased a modest home and a MAX Canada policy.

Early in the spring of 2005, due to frost and water pressure, a section of foundation wall collapsed. While such an event is not covered under a property insurance policy, the young man did not have the resources to do the repairs and was very distraught.

His MAX Canada agent contacted Mutual Aid Ministries about this circumstance. We in turn contacted the congregation to explore how this young couple could be assisted. Through the financial assistance of Mutual Aid Ministries and the congregation, volunteer labour - more than $3,000 was donated to allow this young man and his fiancé to cover most of the loss. In addition, it was a wonderful learning experience for the congregation in providing mutual aid and seeing first-hand the services of Mutual Aid Ministries.
